I'm a female born in 1983, and as you might have guessed by having a peek in my profile, I'm a big Tolkien fan like I have been for over 10 years. And yes, I have read the books a lot as well. I do draw, paint, 3D model and photoshop things myself, and I'll upload things in my gallery when I have time for it.
What I'm looking for here is Tolkienverse related fan art, of course, and I'm especially fond about the Elves (to be precise: Eldar and the house of Finarfin). I will favourite other things as well. I'm very much enjoying to see all the talent and like minded people around, and I'll maybe pick inspiration and lessons myself. What I'm looking for is mainly classic art and photo manipulation.
I don't consider myself as too strict as a fan, because I know that a lots of fun is always to be had. What comes to the fan art of Silmarillion, Hobbit, Lord of the Rings and Unfinishes Tales, I also do accept humor and romance art showing some more intimate moments, as long as they're tastefully done. Nonetheless, I still don't personally like shipping like it's known in fan art or fanfics.
By the shipping I mean pairing characters with each other in the way they weren't meant to be in the original stories, regardless of sexual orientation. I would rather create entirely new characters in that universe if want to create new romances in fanfic material. I prefer respecting the original author's ideas, which in the case of my fandom is J.R.R. Tolkien - after all, the characters are his, not ours.
The main point: if you want me to favourite your work, please don't change the original stories too much. I think that presenting any unnamed spouses in family trees as well as "missing moments" is OK.
